SkyCrew is a desktop companion app that turns your voice into cockpit actions inside Microsoft Flight Simulator. Instead of reaching for the mouse mid-approach, you simply talk to your copilot â naturally, the way you would to a real first officer: "Copilot, gear down." Copilot hears you, understands what you meant, performs the action, and gives you a short spoken confirmation.
Everything below runs today, in early alpha, on a typical flight-sim PC.
Speak conversationally â no rigid command syntax to memorize.
Understands what you mean, not just keywords â so you can speak naturally instead of memorizing exact phrases.
Real-time airspeed, altitude, heading, vertical speed, and more.
Dedicated command mappings per airframe, with irrelevant commands dimmed in the UI.
Full Preflight/Inflight/Postflight checklists that load automatically for what you're flying, with tick-off progress.
"Optimize fuel" leans the mixture step by step to true peak RPM, in the background.
On jets with no autothrottle, "monitor speed 250" holds a target airspeed by working the throttles for you.
Heading, altitude, vertical speed, LNAV, localizer, approach, level change, speed, and autothrottle â all by voice.
Loads a larger, sharper voice model on a compatible GPU, stepping down automatically if the sim needs the memory.
Copilot speaks up when you cross the transition altitude, so you never miss a baro switch.
The microphone automatically pauses for the length of Copilot's own reply, so it can never hear itself.
Open the built-in chat companion as a standalone window for quick lookups or general conversation.
Adjust Copilot's volume, switch between voice-activation and push-to-talk, and configure regional transition altitudes.
Sign in with the same account used for the web dashboard; SkyCrew remembers your session between launches.
New versions install themselves seamlessly in the background.
The Copilot tab is a real-time glass panel fed directly by the simulator, refreshing several times a second.
Airspeed, altitude, heading, and vertical speed with a climb/descent trend indicator.
Real height above the terrain below you, accurate no matter how the altimeter is set.
Landing gear, landing lights, parking brake, autopilot, and flaps at a glance.
Shown in both inHg and hPa, with a transition reminder based on your configured region.
Visual and vocal alerts for exceeding 250 kts below 10,000 ft, or landing lights left off/on.
Every selector and mode â HDG, LNAV, FLC, ALT, V/S, LOC, APP, SPD, autothrottle â lit up live with target values.
Live wind, temperature, QNH, visibility, head/crosswind component, nearest airport, and tuned radios.
A spoken command travels through seven stages, entirely on your machine.
Your voice is captured at the system level through an embedded, high-performance audio engine and normalized for speech processing.
A dedicated voice-activity model distinguishes genuine speech from background engine and cabin noise.
The sentence must contain a natural activation phrase before anything is interpreted â idle conversation and ATC chatter never trigger an action.
A built-in speech-recognition model, running as an always-warm background service, transcribes your words.
A compact, locally-run language model maps the transcript onto one of your real, configured commands â constrained so it can only ever return a genuine command, or nothing at all.
The confirmed command is sent to Microsoft Flight Simulator through its official SimConnect interface â the same channel professional add-ons use.
A short spoken cue plays so you know the action was heard and carried out, without ever glancing away from the windscreen.
What happens in your cockpit stays in your cockpit â signing in is the one exception.
The speech engine and voice detector never touch the internet â all command interpretation happens locally, in real time.
Your voice, transcripts, and prompts are never collected, transmitted, or stored anywhere but your computer.
Audio is processed in-the-moment and discarded â it is not logged or retained.
The only network calls SkyCrew makes are signing in with your AvioLogix account and checking for app updates.
